On August 26, the working visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon to the Rasht Valley continued after visiting the Tojikobod and Rasht districts in Nurobod district.
After a warm welcome from the leadership and residents of the district, the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, first got acquainted with a road bridge project.
This will be the largest road bridge in the republic in terms of design and style, and is being built with a length of 920 meters and a width of 15 meters.
The project will be implemented over the next 2 years, and its implementation is of key importance not only as a means of connecting the two banks of the Surkhob River, but also as a basis for the broad use of industrial and tourism opportunities in the development of the national economy.
The next initiative of the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon – the construction of the largest road bridge in the Rasht Valley – is a solid step in implementing one of the country’s strategic goals – overcoming the communication deadlock.
The construction of this bridge is being carried out within the framework of the implementation of the third phase of the Obi Garm – Nurobod road project in accordance with international road construction requirements.
Domestic and international engineers have been involved in the technical and economic feasibility study of the construction model of the roadbridge.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, gave instructions and recommendations to engineers and road builders to carry out work on time, use high-quality construction materials, and contribute to the transformation of Tajikistan into a transit country, and laid the foundation stone for the construction of the largest bridge.
Here, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, put into operation 75 kilometers of local paved roads in the villages of Roghun city and Nurobod district.
These roads were repaired and upgraded within the framework of the implementation of the Obi Garm – Nurobod route project, connecting the communities of Mujikharf, Mehrobod, Safedchashma, and Obi Rabit of Nurobod district and the Obigarm community of Roghun city to the main highway.
The good condition of these roads will improve the living conditions of nearly 100,000 rural residents of Roghun city and Nurobod district.
Since access to education, medical services, and the delivery of agricultural products to the capital’s markets are among the issues that are closely related to the good condition of roads.
This measure, which was implemented on the basis of the initiatives of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, regarding the well-being of the people, will increase the well-being of the residents of these villages.
Based on the instructions of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, this project should be fully implemented by November 2027. The vehicular bridge will not only be a means of connecting the two banks of the Roghun reservoir in the Surkhob River basin in the future, but will also be of key importance in terms of laying the foundation for the broad use of industrial and tourism opportunities in the development of the national economy.
