Dear compatriots, colleagues and football fans of the country!
I sincerely congratulate all of you and especially the country’s sports community on the occasion of this historic day, World Football Day.
Today, football is considered not only a popular sports game, but also a true messenger of peace, unity, social integration and friendship between peoples. It is a great honor for us, the Tajik people, that on the wise and global initiative of the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and the President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), dear Rustam Emomali, and with the unanimous support of the world community, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a special resolution on May 7, 2024 and officially She declared May 25 the International Football Day.
The choice of this date has deep symbolic and historical significance, as it is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the first international football tournament with the participation of teams from all continents of the world (Paris, 1924). This great event testifies to the international recognition of sports diplomacy and creative initiatives of beloved Tajikistan on the world stage.
The celebration of this day is a symbol of the unprecedented efforts of the country’s top leadership, especially the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop mass sports, protect youth from undesirable phenomena and create a modern sports infrastructure throughout the country. It was this consistent policy that gave a new spirit and strength to domestic sports and football, and for the first time the Tajik national team reached the final of the Asian Cup.
In this regard, the country’s transport sector, as a vital artery of socio-economic development, is always at the service of the development of the sports sector, ensuring regular and comfortable movement of athletes and fans to various sports areas.
Employees of the State Service on Control and Regulation in the Field of Transport will continue to make a valuable contribution to the supervision and regulation of the industry, improving the quality of transport services and meeting modern international standards necessary for holding world competitions at a high level in our country.
I once again congratulate all of you on this glorious historical day and wish every family of Tajikistan full well-being, happiness, unity and tranquility, new victories in the development and representation of domestic football on the world stage!
